Type of prescription forms:

  • Blue prescription (for medicinse without co-paymen)
  • Red prescription (for medicines with co-payment)
  • E-prescription (has to contain all information like paper prescription)

Prescription regulations and rules: 

Brand-name and non-proprietary names

  • The prescription is made by brand name.

Quantity of unique medicines per one prescription

  • One medicine can be prescribed per one prescription.

Number of medicine packages per one prescription

  • The quantity of medicine for a maximum of 30 days of therapy can be prescribed.

Controlled drugs (narcotics and psychotropic substances)

  • Specific rules for the dispense of controlled drugs apply. For example, quantity restriction (mg of drug per one prescription), double prescription (original + copy that stays in the pharmacy).

Validity of prescription

  • Prescription is valid for 15 days except for antibiotics (3 days) and narcotics/psychotropic substances (5 days).
